Church on Fire: Archbishop of Canterbury’s visit to
the Diocese:
THE Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan
Williams will make an extended visit to the Lichfield Diocese 5th- 8th November.
During the four-day visit there will be a range of events taking place
throughout the diocese under the banner of ‘Church on Fire’.
On Monday 8th November, the
Archbishop will hold a breakfast meeting with leading personnel from local
government, the armed forces and emergency services, education and business,
before visiting a school in the Stoke on Trent area. More details and how to
apply for tickets to get to these events will be published as soon as we have
the information.
Some PCC News following their meeting on the 19th
of July:
Collections: There was a
recommendation from the Standing Committee that two collection plates be put at
the back of the church, one adjacent to each exit, instead of taking a
collection during the service and that there should be a trial period for four
months from October to January. Approved.
Finance: The deficit so far was
£1,606 which was slightly better than anticipated. Energy costs were £93 below budget.
Pastoral Care: Local shops would be
asked if they would have Prayer Boxes for people to put requests for
intercessions into. Approved.
