We extend to you our prayers and sympathy at this time of bereavement. “Since we believe that
Jesus died and rose again, even so through Jesus, God will bring with him
those who have died. So we will be with the Lord for ever. Therefore encourage
one another with these words” This link contains, we hope, helpful notes on the use of the Churchyard extension, opposite St Lawrence Church on the Stafford Road, which is maintained for the church by the Parish Council. |
Funerals in Church
Wherever you want to have the service, if you want your parish priest to take it, it is vital that he is consulted before the time is fixed with the funeral director. Most funerals are arranged by your next of kin, but you can plan this beforehand by making a contract with a particular firm, writing a will with details of what you want, or at the very least telling your next of kin what you would like. Making a will is a sign of maturity and not ' tempting fate' at all. If we truly love those closest to us we will want to make life easier for them, at a time when they are bereaved, by being clear about our intentions. The priest in Charge will of course take funerals at the local crematoriums. The church offers both a memorial service for those recently bereaved and a bereavement support team to offer care and a listening ear. Full details of both are sent when a funeral (whether at church or crematorium) is arranged. Funeral Fees
