Enlarged Benefice news
‘The new benefice
incorporating the parish churches comprising St. Michael and All Angels,
Adbaston; Knightley, Christ Church; St. Lawrence Church, Gnosall; St. Mary’s,
High Offley; St. Mary’s Church, Moreton and St. Peter’s Church, Norbury
requires a name! Although on all our official letterheads, etc, all the
parishes will be referred to in alphabetical order; we do need a name/ phrase
to describe us. One that is easy to say; eye catching/ easy to be remembered,
etc. However, the name must not include any of the parishes as we do not want
one parish favoured above another. If you have such a name to describe the new
benefice then please submit them to Rev Mark Bridgen. The Vicarage. Glebe Lane.

by the 31st of August. The prize will be that of having your
suggestion as the one used throughout the enlarged benefice!!!
Benefice Administrator: To support the
clergy in their work of ministry to a new Anglican benefice which will include
the parishes of Gnosall, Moreton, Adbaston, High Offley with Knightley and
Norbury. The post holder will be based in Gnosall and will be required to
undertake an enhanced CRB check. The salary will be £8.00 per hour for 20 Hours
per week and the deadline for applications is 26th July 2010.

Diocesan News
An invitation to anyone to attend a service at
Lichfield Cathedral at 3.00pm on Sunday 26th September 2010 to welcome the new
Bishop of Stafford, The Revd Canon Geoff Annas, to the Diocese of Lichfield.
There are no restrictions on numbers but admission to the service will be by
ticket only, which must be ordered by e-mail or post by 31st August. Tickets
will be sent out by 10th September. Go on-line at lichfield.anglican.org/bishop-stafford.

free newsletter for all Christians is out at the back of church. July/ August
copy. Please take and distribute among family and friends.
Parish News
Can you help with this year’s holiday club? There
are lots of ways you can get involved and help with this summer’s holiday club.
We have a core group of leaders who will run the club each day but we need help
with refreshments, crafts, drama and games. The club will run from Monday 2nd
August to Friday 6th August, from 10am – 12 noon in the
Memorial Hall. If you can help
even if just for one morning please sign up the sheet at the back of church. In
addition there are various "junk" items we need for our craft
activities- shoe boxes, Pringles tubs, water bottles and the lids from cheese
triangle cartons. If you have any please leave those in the box at the back of
church. The next leaders/ helpers meeting for Holiday Club is Tuesday 13th July at 10am in the Vestry.
Barn Dance! Saturday 11th of September
in the Village Hall. Make a note now in your diary. List to sign at the back of
church next Sunday.
