Worship Ministry Team

Mission Statement
As a village church to enable people to discover, strengthen and express through different acts of worship their relationship to God as opened up for them by Jesus Christ and sustained through the power of the Holy Spirit. At the moment the Worship Ministry Team does the following!

1. Reflects, resources and reviews all worship that takes place at St. Lawrence – both regular Sunday worship and special services
2. Reflects, resources and reviews component parts in worship – namely, music, intercessions, reading, Eucharistic ministers and practicalities of any service
3. Explores the possibility of developing worship in formats that have been requested – healing service, charismatic worship, early morning prayer book communion and to be open to receive requests for other acts of worship
4. To develop space in the Ministry team meeting to continue to think creatively about worship and why we worship
5. To act as a channel so as to gain feedback from the congregation as regards to worship and services that take place
6. To explore how it can resource worship in other areas of the village rather than being church based – house group, Sanctuary, other bases in the village
7. To resource and review worship of the occasional offices – baptism, wedding and funeral
8. To resource the cultivation of a prayer group and prayer ministry within the church

Music Mission Statement

Ourvision is to enable the full, conscious, and active participation of the fellowship of St. Lawrence in a relationship with God in Christ. We hope to achieve this by playing and leading music that connects with the congregation’s hearts, minds and spirits thereby fostering and cultivating each person’s relationship with God.

Music Team Ministry Group

At the moment the Music Ministry Team does the following!

1. Plays at the monthly all age services and other services as requested
2. Is looking to expand its range of musicians – especially a new keyboard player
3. Is looking to expand its range of singers so as to develop the vocal range it provides
4. Is expanding its repertoire of more well known songs so that it can offer music if needed in a service if the worship dictates
5. Is developing lines of communication and enhance the planning of worship so as to provide music that enriches the church services in which the music team is present
6. Developing an ethos of flexibility for the inclusion of a variety of vocalists / instrumentalists to suit the style of  music chosen for the different services
7. Is seeking to expand it’s technical backup – Sound desk and computer operators

Choir Ministry Team

At the moment the Choir Ministry Team does the following!

1. Has appointed a new organist and choir leader
2. Is expanding the range of communion settings that the church currently uses
3. Is seeking to explore the possibility of creating a junior choir that both sings with the choir as a whole as well as by itself
4. Is seeking to develop ways in which to enable those outside the fellowship to experience the richness of sacred church music
5. Is seeking to develop lines of communication and enhance the planning of worship so as to provide music that enriches the services of the church in which the choir is present
